Position Descriptions

Thank you for taking an interest in being a part of the Book Bears team! Below you will find all the available positions and their descriptions. Once you have found the positions you’d like to apply for, fill out this Google Form application. You can apply for more than one position.

 

Applications will be due by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST. All applicants will receive notices for interviews by Wednesday, FEBRUARY 3RD with interviews following shortly after that.

Executive Leadership Positions

Creative Director

​

- manage the Creative Team
- manage submissions for art
- evaluate/select pieces to display on the website and social media platforms
- design/display submissions on a page on our website
- think of ways to promote our art page and gain more submissions
- attend weekly Executive Leadership meetings

​

approx. 3 hours per week

Fundraising Director​

​

-manage the Fundraising Team
- attend weekly Executive Leadership meetings
- come up with ways to fund Book Bears
- seek opportunities for grants/funding for Book Bears and Book Bears projects

 

approx. 3 hours per week
 

Leadership Positions

Staff Artist

​

- create/produce art to post on our website & social media platforms
- art includes visual, written, poetry, design, photography, film, dance, singing, and any 
  other forms of creative expression
- the goal is to raise awareness about why literacy matters for kids
- attend bi-weekly Creative Team meetings

​

approx. 2 hours per week
 

Social Media Coordinator

​

- look for potential partnerships with other organizations or student-run initiatives on 
  social media platforms (primarily Instagram and Tik Tok)
- reach out to potential partners
- make TikToks/Instagram Reels
- attend bi-weekly Public Relations meetings (ran by Director of Public Relations, Jamie Lee)

​

approx. 2 hours per week

​

Graphic Designer


- create graphics for social media posts (Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
- make flyers and posters for various events
- attend biweekly marketing meetings held by the Director of Marketing 

​

approx. 2 hours per week

Projects Coordinator


- innovate new projects/opportunities
- organize/plan events (assigned by co-presidents)
- attend bi-weekly project meetings (ran by Project Manager Avery Mizrahi)

 

approx. 2 hours per week

Content Producer

​

- filming content for the Book Bears YouTube channel
- coming up with creative video ideas and being in them (i.e. book reviews, informational 
   videos, etc.)
- requires basic knowledge in video editing (this position does not require any editing 
  however) and access to basic film equipment (iPhone or camera)
- attend bi-weekly marketing meetings (ran by Director of Marketing, Emma Han)
 
approx. 2 hours per week

Fundraising Coordinator​

- come up with ways to fund Book Bears
- seek opportunities for grants/funding for Book Bears and Book Bears projects
- organizing/executing fundraising events
- attending bi-weekly Fundraising meetings
